Four qualifiers were announced by Braemar CC Director of Golf Dale Davis:

2) Jeremy Sanders – 18 – New Community Jewish HS – 75
3) Angelo Galletti – 16 – Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies – 76
4) Troy Kuramarohit – 15 – Crespi Carmelite HS - 86

La Costa Resort & Spa will host premier Event exclusively for High School Boys & Girls on April 3-4, 2010

The Scholastic Junior Golf Association Championships presented by Callaway Golf is a premier junior event exclusively for high school golfers (boys and girls). The 54 hole event for boys and 54 hole event for girls will be held at the La Costa Resort & Spa April 3-4, 2010. Participation begins with a commitment from players to both their high school golf team and coach. A series of Monday qualifying events (exclusively at ClubCorp venues) and nomination by High School Coaches, Tour Directors and Junior Golf Associations across the United States will determine the Championship Field.

“We plan to build this event into one of the most prestigious junior events in America” comments SJGA CEO Steve Simons. “Callaway Golf adds an exciting dimension to our program as the presenting sponsor.” A colorful and interactive website will showcase our association to student athletes, families and coaches. “Faces in the Fairway” will provide updates on high school golfers, their teams and accomplishments on their journey to the “Road to La Costa”.

Monday Qualifying Events to begin in Southern and Northern California at selected Club Corp Venues – expansion across the United States will begin in 2010

SJGA Board of Director Steve Armstrong will chair a committee for Monday qualifying events for the Grand Finale at La Costa in April. Initial plans call for events in San Diego, Orange County, Inland Empire and Northern California exclusively at Club Corp venues beginning as early as October/November, 2009.
